Why You Should Visit:

Washington University School of Law encourages visits by prospective students.  We know that a visit is the best way to learn about our most distinctive features: student collegiality, faculty accessibility, state-of-the-art facilities, and the many exciting new developments occurring at the law school.

When You Should Visit:

The School of Law Admissions Office is open Monday through Friday throughout the academic year and the summer.  The University is closed for various holidays and events.  Please contact the Admissions Office for more information. 

Scheduling a Tour:

Anheuser Busch Hall Tower

Please make an appointment through the Admissions Office at 314-935-4525.  During your visit you are welcome to meet with an Admissions Counselor to talk about your application and the admissions process.

Parking:

Please park in the Forsyth (Danforth) Parking Garage located on Wallace Drive. [campus map]
You will be given a parking validation ticket in the Admissions Office when you arrive for your visit which can be redeemed when you leave the parking garage.

By Air: Lambert-St. Louis International Airport

Getting there:
If you’re approaching the airport from Interstate 170 southbound, you’ll take exit 7B. If you’re traveling northbound on I-170, take exit 7C from the far left lane. You’ll be Westbound on I-70 for only about a quarter-mile before you take exit 238A, which will take you past, in order: the East Terminal, the Main Terminal.

If you’re coming from St. Charles or Interstate 270 from St. Louis County or Illinois, you'll be approaching the airport Eastbound on I-70. Use exit 235C at Cypress Road.

Getting from the airport to St. Louis:
Take the I-70E exit toward St. Louis.  After 13.9 miles, take the Memorial Dr. exit (exit 250B) toward Downtown/Pine St.   

Getting from the airport to the Law School:
Take the I-70E exit toward St. Louis.  Take I-170 south to the Forest Park Pkwy exit (#1E).  After approx. 2.5 miles, take a right onto Throop Drive.  To your left will be the Millbrook parking garage.  Park in any available yellow spot.  The Law School (Anheuser-Busch Hall) is to the right of the intersection of Throop Drive and Snow Way.

Airport Transportation

  1. Terminal Shuttles:
     Free shuttles run continuously between the Main and East Terminals.  They pickup and drop off at Exit MT12 of the Main Terminal and Exit ET12 of the East Terminal.

  2. Bus Port:
    Arriving and departing of all bus transportation is located the entrance to the Intermediate Lot, south of Main Terminal.  Board “Terminal Shuttle” at Exit MT12 on the lower level of the Main Terminal.

  3. MetroLink:
    MetroLink is St. Louis’ light rail system.  The airport stops are located on the upper level of the Main Terminal at Exit MT1 and the East Terminal though the parking garage on all levels.  Operating daily from 5am until midnight with tickets priced at $3.50 for an adult one-way trip from the Airport, less for seniors and children under 12.  Children under 5 ride for free.
    You can take the MetroLink from the airport directly to Washington University.  Take any train from the airport to the Forest Park station.  From the adjacent platform, transfer to a Shrewsbury/I-44 train and take it to the University City/Big Bend station.  After you leave the MetroLink station, walk east along Forest Park Pkwy (the University will be on your right) to Throop Drive.  Take a right on Throop Drive and the Law School (Anheuser-Busch Hall) is to the right of the intersection of Throop Drive and Snow Way.

  4. Area Hotel Courtesy Vehicles: 
    Several area hotels also offer shuttle services, so be sure to inquire.  From the Main Terminal: Call toll free near Exits MT12, MT17, and MT18 (on the lower level, near baggage claim), board at Exit MT18.  From the East Terminal: Call toll free near the Exit ET12, board on lower level at ET15. 

  5. Van Services: 
    Provides shared van service to Downtown hotels.  Purchase tickets and board at: Main Terminal, Exit MT12 or East Terminal, Exit ET12.  Tickets are usually $15 one-way, $25 round trip.  Advanced reservation limousine/van services are available for transportation to your destination in St. Louis and surrounding Missouri/Illinois locations. 

  6. Rental Cars:

    Airport/On-site: Rental car counters are located between Exits MT17 and MT12, lower level, Main Terminal.
    Airport/Off-site: Call toll free near Exits MT17 and MT12 in Main Terminal.  Rental car shuttle vans pick-up outside Exit MT17 or in the East Terminal outside Exit ET12. 

  7. Taxis:
    You can find taxis waiting to meet nearly every flight at Lambert-St. Louis Airport. Exit the Main Terminal at Exit MT14 to the Yellow Parking Garage Level. Exit the East Terminal at ET12 to the parking garage. There is a $3 surcharge for all taxicabs leaving the airport. Exact fares will depend upon the final destination – but it usually costs $35 to go directly to the Law School.

By Car

From Downtown St. Louis and points East:
Take I-64/40 West to the Clayton Road exit (#34B).  At the top of the ramp, turn right onto Skinker Blvd.  After approx. 1.25 miles, turn left onto Forest Park Pkwy.  Proceed approx. ½ mile and turn left onto Throop Drive.  To your left will be the Millbrook parking garage.  Park in any available yellow spot.  The Law School (Anheuser-Busch Hall) is to the right of the intersection of Throop Drive and Snow Way.

From the West or South via I-44E or I-55 North:
Take I-64/40 East to the McCausland exit (#33D).  Turn left off the exit ramp.  After 1.5 miles, turn left onto Forest Park Pkwy.  Proceed approx. ½ mile and turn left onto Throop Drive.  To your left will be the Millbrook parking garage.  Park in any available yellow spot.  The Law School (Anheuser-Busch Hall) is to the right of the intersection of Throop Drive and Snow Way.

From Lambert International Airport (West):
Exit the airport on I-70 east to I-170 south.  Take the Forest Park Pkwy exit (#1E).  After approx. 2.5 miles, take a right onto Throop Drive.  To your left will be the Millbrook parking garage.  Park in any available yellow spot.  The Law School (Anheuser-Busch Hall) is to the right of the intersection of Throop Drive and Snow Way.

The following is a list of hotels we recommend to our out-of-town visitors.  Please contact each hotel for exact pricing and directions.  Make sure to mention you are visiting Washington University School of Law because some may offer you a discounted rate.

The hotels we most frequently recommend to visitors are noted with a ♥.  These hotels are located in the Central West End and Clayton neighborhoods, which are East and West of the Danforth Campus respectively.  We recommend these hotels because they are in typical St. Louis neighborhoods surrounded by wonderful restaurants and shops. 

Getting Around

Getting around the university:

The Law School is located in Anheuser-Busch Hall on the Danforth Campus of Washington University in St. Louis.  Click here for a Campus Map.

The Danforth Campus is the heart of Washington University – which also includes the Medical Campus in the Central West End, North Campus, and West Campus locations.  The Danforth Campus is very accessible, either on foot or by car.  The Law School Admissions Office will have information on a self-guided walking tour if you are interested.

Getting around the city:

It’s easy to get around St. Louis.  We suggest having access to a car during your visit, but if you don’t here are several transportation options. 

  1. Public Transportation:  Bi-State, offers many convenient routes connecting the campus with the surrounding communities, including MetroLink (light rail system).  Contact Bi-State at 314-231-2345 for route information or contact our office at 314-935-4525.  We can help you plan your itinerary.  [ http://www.metrostlouis.org]

  2. Taxis: Taxi service is available throughout the city of St. Louis by calling in advance or at major hotels around the city.  We recommend several taxicab companies.

  3. University Shuttle System: The University provides several shuttle systems in the area immediately surrounding the Danforth Campus. Click here for a link to the schuttle schedules.  There is also a Campus Circulator that provides shuttle services from the two new campus MetroLink stations to various locations around the Danforth Campus.
